CHPPR: Center for Health Policy and Professionalism Research
Indiana University School of Medicine and Riley Hospital have recently given the greenlight for the development of the Center for Health Policy and Professionalism Research (CHPPR). The main objective of this center is to perform quick turnaround research on the “hottest” topics of the day related to health healthcare financing, the uninsured, medical education/training, and ethical, professional and legal issues pertaining to physician practice. This is research that will be pertinent to the practice of medicine locally as well as nationally. Results of studies conducted by CHPPR will be disseminated not only through traditional scientific/research channels (i.e. peer-reviewed publications and professional meetings), but a concerted effort will be made to communicate results more directly to decision makers in order to make a more immediate impact on health policy. The center is housed within the IUSM/Riley Children’s Health Services Research program which is located in the IUSM Health Information and Translational Science building. The purpose of the website is to promote the work being conducted by CHPPR and to communicate the results of studies conducted by the center.
